Starting September 8, 2026, the Wittenberg Center will again offer online meetings to learn and practice Latin and German translation skills, as well as improve manuscript reading proficiency. Two new Latin translation groups will begin this week. One group will translate parts of William Whitaker’s disputation on Holy Scripture (1588; ESTC S120046), and the other will examine Theodore Beza’s Tractatus pius et moderatus de vera excommunicatione et christiano presbyterio (1590; ESTC S113219). Both books are important to the history of Elizabethan Protestantism, discussing Scripture and the Church. The basic Latin groups will continue to meet, and new groups can be added.
