Monday, June 12, was mostly a study day. In the evening there was a first guest lecture. Prof. Andreas Feldtkeller, a theologian and religious scholar who teaches at the Humboldt University in Berlin, discussed with the group the relationship between Reformation and Islam, and in particular the relevance of the Reformation for Islam today. He pointed to the potential for renewal inherent in Islam and problematized the possibility of learning from the 16th century Reformation for the renewal of Islam today.
